| My name is Kevin Brooks. I started doing Tough Man contests in 1995 and won my first title in 97' then went on to win in 98' and 00'. With over 14 KOs, most in the first round, I moved to Atlanta in 2000 to pursue a Pro Career in MMA. I met Tim "Obake" Catalfo and spent the next year training with him learning American Submission Fighting. Tim moved on to Jacksonville, FL. I began looking and found my place with Gary Brown, George Allen and Joe Merit. Spending almost 4 years under their coaching, I started my MMA career under their training and have carried everything that they teach with me today. I moved away and added to my experience by spending a year and a half with Kru Kevin Jacobs. I worked heavy Muay Thai, free style wrestling and Sambo. I trained under Kru along with Joe and George still over seeing me. Kru also moved to Flordia leaving me to start building on my BJJ. I worked with Byron Stone for countless hours to earn a purple belt in BJJ. It also give me a better understanding to carry in to the cage. Byron, having fought, worked to help my jui jitsu to fit my style and at the same time, keep tradition. Now 8 years later, after training with some of the BEST coaches and fighters in Georgia, I have built a solid career. Holding a 11-7 MMA /2-2 Pro Kickboxing/1-0 Pro Boxing/17-1 Tough Man Record/ 2006 US open Shidokan Heavyweight Champion and countless unsanctioned fights. Now I'm looking to move up and waiting for the next fight. | |
