Spencer Fisher cruises to victory at UFC 90 & wins submission of the night!!!
With KO Dynasty attending UFC 90 we could of not been more please with Spencer "King" Fisher at UFC 90 in Chicago.
Going into the lightweight fight between Spencer Fisher and Shannon Gugerty, conventional wisdom would be that if someone scored a submission win, it would be the Dean
Lister-trained Gugerty a brown belt in BJJ. But in an exciting turn of events, it was Fisher pulling off a triangle choke submission win late in the third round.
Early into the fight, Gugerty (11-3) drew first blood with a solid takedown. Fisher (23-4) tried to keep Gugerty close to force the standup, but after a quick scramble,
"The King" got up on his own power, even though Gugerty kept him pinned to the cage. Eventually, Fisher broke free, and scored huge with a few strikes, one cutting
Gugerty over the left eye. Moments later, Fisher dropped Gugerty with a big right hook, drawing a roar from the crowd, but despite the strong finish, he was unable to
finish the Gugerty.
After a visit from the doctor to check out the two gashes on his face, Gugerty gamely came out for round two, and after he missed a high kick, the two locked up against
the fence. The pace dipped once the fighters separated, but picked up again when Fisher went for the takedown with a little over two minutes left and got caught in a
guillotine from Gugerty. Fisher eventually escaped but got caught with a couple of head kicks.
Told by trainer Matt Hume to keep it standing, Fisher instead found himself on the mat in the final round, but the versatile Iowan locked in a tight triangle choke.
Gugerty wouldn't give in, repeatedly giving referee David Smith the thumbs up sign to say that he was all right. But finally, Fisher pulled down on Gugerty's head, and
it was game over for the game Californian, who was forced to tap out at the 3:56 mark. The 'King' went on to win submission of the night , and to go on a 2 win streak.

We were just notified that Anthony will be fighting a very tough Trevor Prangley on Sept 20th at the Play Boy Mansion. The fight will be streamlined FREE on Sherdog and will re air on NBC. Spencer Fisher Will Take On Shannon Gugerty at UFC 90, Chicago Il, October 25, 2008
Spencer Fisher (21-4) will take on Shannon Gugerty (11-2) - not Melvin Guillard as originally planned - at UFC 90: "Silva vs. Cote" at the Allstate Arena in Chicago,
Ill., on October 25, according to the CEO of KO Dynasty Sports Mgt., Mickey Dubberly.
No reason is known at this time for the opponent switch, but it appears on the surface to be a much safer fight for "The King."
Then again ... who really knows in this sport.
Fisher is fresh off a unanimous decision win over Jeremy Stephens at The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 7 Finale in June. The Miletich Fighting Systems veteran has won two
of his last four bouts, including a rematch against Sam Stout at UFC Fight Night 10 more than one year ago.
He is a former 155-pound contender. And he'll need to put together back-to-back wins to prove that he still belongs among the division's elite.
Gugerty made his Octagon debut at UFC Fight Night 14: "Silva vs. Irvin," submitting fellow newcomer Dale Hartt with a rear naked choke in round one. It marked the
eighth straight win for the Total Combat promotion veteran who has finished more than 70 percent of his professional fights by way of submission.
In fact, Gugerty has not lost a bout since meeting up with Cub Swanson back in 2006.

Kyle Dietz joins KO Dynasty and signs a 4 fight deal with MFC!
Up and coming Kyle Dietz from Iowa joins the K.O. Dynasty family, and in 1 day signs a mega 4 fight deal with the MFC. Kyle will fight in the 145lb division in November vs Mike Bruno.
We are very pleased to welcome Kyle Dietz to the family. He is 13-0, and we expect big things from him. Kyle from Iowa trains with the likes of super star UFC stud and KO Dynasty

The MFC 145 lb division better watch out! Kyle is going to be eyeing the belt. The MFC is Canada's largest MMA Organization, and has sold out 10 straight times,
and will be putting on their 19th show in November at the River Cree Resort in Edmonton Canada. The MFC is broadcasted ALL over the world on 5 different TV networks including HDnet.

ladies match ups will definitely get the crowd crazy. USABBC Melissa Haley makes her debut against Inferno MMA Alaina
Morris 1-1. Tecia Torres of Punch Fitness gets her chance against Alysia Afonso 0-2 from EMK Fight Team and debuters;
Luz Guiterrez and Shani Frazier complete this femme fatale trio. With all these great competitors come some very well
recognized coaches and guests. David Avellan, WEC fighter, is coach to Joe Ray and Denis Hernandez. EliteXC/ UFC/WCL
competitor Crafton "Blaze" Wallace will be coaching two of his students and he was the last to hold the amateur
