Season 10 of The Ultimate Fighter (TUF), as expected, delivered a ratings
bonanza when it finally managed to get former YouTube brawler and Elite XC star
Kimbo Slice inside the Octagon on episode three.
And, as expected, the ratings took a significant hit once Slice was knocked
out of the competition in the following episode. Now before you start writing
your eulogy for the Spike TV reality show, know that its depleted numbers were
still enough to outdraw the MLB playoffs.
Here’s how the ratings compare in the Men 18-34 category for Wednesday
:
The Ultimate Fighter 10: 1.1 Million
New York Yankees vs. Minnesota Twins: 948,000
Los Angeles Dodgers vs. St Louis Cardinals: 903,000
Philadelphia Phillies vs. Colorado Rockies: 488,000
While 1.1 million viewers was a far cry from last week’s 6.1, TUF 10
was still the most watched program in all of television in the category of Men
18-34 for the fourth straight week. Not too shabby, considering the show is in
its tenth season.
Still, unless Kimbo is able to find a way back into the cage, expect those
numbers to slowly erode. And the UFC had better pull out all the stops for
season eleven if they want to continue to draw over the one million mark.
